COULD WE WORK TOGETHER?
(WHILE HAVING FUN)
Although I am based in Cape Town, I work around the world, thanks to the world wide web. I have previously lived in London, Beirut and Mexico City, and love speaking different languages. I get along okay in Afrikaans, Arabic, French and Spanish, and have recently learnt a bit of German. My professional language for coaching and writing is English.
I am a Rhodes University journalism graduate, who worked as Managing Editor for Condé Nast House & Garden and Gourmet magazines. Later, I became Brand and Communications Director for Southern Guild - Africa's only gallery for collectable design - with whom I travelled to design fairs in New York, Dubai, Paris and Miami. I was also Programme Manager for Business of Design (an annual conference for creative entrepreneurs, held in Cape Town and Johannesburg), and assisted in managing Design Network Africa, a programme that brought together 15 designers from across the African continent, facilitating collaborative projects and business-building initiatives.
As a freelance writer in the design and creative industries, I have worked on books published by Gestalten and the Cape Grace Hotel, and was the copywriter on the Joy From Africa to the World campaign when it won a Loerie Grand Prix award.
I'm moved by the authentic passion I see in makers, designers, artists and creators. This inspires my writing and pushes me to want to grow these industries by coaching creatives to live their big, bold dreams. I do this through my work as a certified professional life and business coach – trained by ILS, which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation.
I am a wannabe surfer and aspiring flamenco dancer who loves taking bets that involve ice cream. Tennis is my new thing, psychedelic integration coaching is my next thing, and cooking is my forever thing. I approach work as an exciting place of exploration, where fun, kindness and connection lead to the most meaningful results.
Oh, and I also developed the Creative Health Check. It's absolutely free and takes just three minutes to complete. Go on and see whether you're sitting in creative vibrancy, or are in a creative fog or slump.
